7.3 cuts out at normal cruising speed

I am new to the forum and this is my first diesel. I have a 2003 7.3 Power Stroke. I was driving about 50 mph and the engine cut out for just a second or two and then picked back up, ran fine for a few minutes then cut out again and then picked back up and ran fine the rest of the way home. The engine light came on after the first time it cut out and stayed on until I shut the engine down after I got home. I looked to see if there was anything obviously wrong but everything seemed normal. I cranked the engine again and it ran fine, the engine light stayed off. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hey thanks for the reply, After I posted I went back out and pulled the dipstick to check the oil.......It was real low. I guess now I need to find out where the oil is going.
