No Water Circulation
Inherited a mess with a 99 7.3. Recent water pump, radiator and thermostat replacement. Currently have no water circulation (hoses are cold) and fluid in the block is boiling. Engine is emitting white/gray exhaust at 2200 + RPM range. Thinking bad thermostat or plugged water jacket. Another person told me to pull injectors and check for which everone is steam cleaned (from boiling coolant) then check / replace copper sleeve. Anyone ever deal with something like this? Thoughts?? Gotta get the beast up ASAP!

First thing I would do is pull the thermostat out and see if whoever installed the t/stsat
put it in backwards. Also see if the belt is on right, Ive seen where it is put on wrong and ran backwards. If all that is alright with t/stat out, take belt off water pump, start engine and see if water bubbles out of t/stat hole if it does may have head gasket problems. |
