Adding turbo to new 2012 6.7 F250

Help! I am buying a new 2012 F250 base model that has no turbo - all friends say get a turbo. I would love to do that - is it not wise or too costly to add it now?

I would appreciate advice - I just found out today that the truck I am looking to buy has a diesel, no turbo - it is being delivered from another dealership and I assumed it was turbo. The dealer here said no. Is it too expensive to install now? Can it be accomplished by a backyard mechanic?

Dude, if you're trolling, mission accomplished. If not here's some info: They don't make a 6.7 without a turbo. Unless you're buying a 6.2 GAS

Thanks

Thank you for the response - I am not trolling, except for some knowledge I guess. I appreciate your quote, dude. My stress level just went down an order of magnitude - detail sheet says 6.7 V8 Diesel. Wonder why the dealer told me it wasn't a turbo. I will find out tomorrow. Thanks again.

I would look for another dealer. If they don't know that all diesels come with a turbo, do you trust them to work on it if something goes wrong?

++^^ I couldn't agree more, this is all under the assumption that he truthfully had a dealership tell him it wasn't a turbo diesel...still haven't bit that hook yet
