starting problem..guages acting weird

I have an 04 F350, just got it back yesterday morning from dealer, had a new egr installed. It ran fine for today but when I stopped at the bank for 5 min, it would not start. When I turn the key all the guages go all the way up for about 2 seconds and then dropped to zero. The engine will turn over a couple of times then stop. I am going to go back down town and see if the dealer did not hook the batteries up right (loose connection???). Does any body have any insight into this..otherwise I'll have to have it towed. Thanks fo your help.
