Limp mode after EGR delete/removal kit w/out tune.

Installed EGR delete kit and removed the EGR system. Trucks runs and drives fine but stays in limp mode. Pulled and cleared codes(all related to the EGR) but will not come out of limp mode. Also, the heater will not come on. Not sure there are any other symptoms and if they're related to the EGR kit on the stock tune.

Is this normal for an EGR delete kit on a stock tune and will it take a programmer to get it out of limp mode and back to normal?

Thanks
