Well based off the P2290 code (Injector Control Pressure Too Low) and it shut off it has to do with your HPOP system. It could be the pump itself, STC fitting, ICP sensor or the IPR. Lucky for you the ICP is on the passenger valve cover unlike mine (03) which is next to the IPR behind the turbo on top of the HPOP housing. Now will it not start back up??? If it is a leak such as the STC fitting you "should" be able to let it cool down and it will restart and maybe limp back home. I have had my ICP sensor crack and leak really bad it ran, just like sh*t.

Wont start back up. From what I read the cause could be the 261 code and that could be a bad FICM. And it won't start which will then throw the other code. Is this true?

P0261 could also just be in the injector harness as well its hard to tell I wouldn't worry about that code at the moment. I have seen those codes go away just by unplugging and plugging the harness back in .That code is concentrated on cylinder #1 which is the front most injector on the passenger side just in case you were wondering. As for the FICM it should be showing more then one injector code when that happens and should also be throwing FICM voltage circuit low code as well...Now that is a lot of should but bottom line is YES it could be your FICM it will shut you down like that. Hard to say for sure though because if your HPOP goes out you won't start as well especially with that P2290 code and no FICM code. Can you read you FICM voltage by chance?

Ya I just picked up a scangauge II about a week or so ago. Shows 49 to 50 volts when running. At cold start when I'm waiting on the glow plugs I've seen it drop to 34 or so but when I start cranking it jumps up to 48 or somewhere close

I am hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like your FICM is trashed. It may cool off and start but I kinda doubt it.

Just talked to him on the phone tested the FICM performance with the scangauge II, FICM is good...The problem in in the HPOP system...

Anybody know how to program the scangauge II to test the icp and all that? Can't find that thread that has all the codes
