7.3 misses during rain

Hi, I have an issue that sounds like a cps, but only happens when it's raining.
Three different rain storms now have caused my PSD to shut off and back on while driving. It's like the light switch being turned off and back on in less than a second causing on heck of jolt.
I have read everyones post, but have failed to see if anyone else is affected by weather. When the weather is clear I have no issues, but even a light rain that dose'nt soak the road will cause this event.
Of course there is no trouble light/check engine just one big jolt!!!
Can't be good on the drivetrain. Ford wants $185.00 to run a test on it, but I wanted to see what you guys and gals thought.

Thanks! Lancer

Thanks for reminding me!!! It's a 2002 Excursion.
As far as checking codes I see that Autozone does this for free! Is that right??

Hey Mark great site !!!

Thanks!

Yup, autozone will scan for free.....the other think we might need to do is pull the IDM out and see if its getting water up in there.....maybe fill the sockets with di electric grease if it looks like it is.....see whats there for codes first and we will go from there..

Unhappy exact problem

I have the same problem. When I run in light Rain, The engine just cuts out for a second than continues just fine for a while. Have also had it just die out at a stop, restarts like normal start.
Anybody find a solution? My Ford dealer has never heard of this and either has another PowerStroke mechanic herard of this.

Thanks for your help and the quick reply.
Have you seen this happen when pulling a trailer. When I pulled my 4K LBS. trailer last time (before my transmission went out), when I came to a stop or slowed to exit the hiway, the engine died and left me no power steering and little brakes, have to throw it in neutral and restart it.
The engine started right up.
