So, I talked to him, here is his story," Lately the truck has become acting weird while driving... It will buck and jerk and act like it's not running on all 8 cylinders. It smokes BLUE/black smoke (enough to smoke out the whole street and make people notice)
Someone told me to add diesel injector cleaner so I did. Nothing changed. So I kept driving it and it was getting worse and worse. I check the fuel pump and changed the filters with Motorcraft filters (my thoughts..phew atleast somethings right lol)
I drove it to fll it up with diesel thinking there is not enough, topped it off and it wouldn't start. So I left it for the night. (my thoughts... HPO leak)
I came back in the morning after talking to a mechanic and he told me to bang on the FICM a bit so I did...
.. checked for fuel and started it right up. (My thoughts, nothing he checked or hit made a difference...still a HPO leak.. HE thought him hitting the FICM made it better LOL... I Told him NEVER to do that again lol)
I started driving it and merging on the freeway and it started POURING out BLUE/black smoke like crazy, people were honking and getting mad. I looked at all my factory gauges and everything was fine... All of a sudden I get a CEL and the engine starts knocking... and Dies!
This is where we are at now.
(I told him he needs a scanner to find out the CEL. He should probably take it to a shop/dealer to get it FULLY scanned to figure out the whole issue.
That mechanic told him it is all because of a ruptured EGR cooler that it won't start. I told him BULL. Something is totally different from all "common" problems on 6.0's... No white smoke at all.
