6.0 Idles great but no rev-up
My 6.0 had codes p0261,264,267,270,273,276,279,281,282,611,677
I start the engine and it idles OK! If i add any throttle, it dies down and blows out a lot of smoke, which doesn't smell like coolant by the way!! The smoke is white, but not sure what is going on. Seeing the P0611 code, I checked the ficm voltage, removing the GPCM plug, coolant reservoir, and the cover plate on the ficm. KOEO=32V. Should be close to 48V so I ordered BPD upgraded 58V 6 Phase power supply. After the install, I checked the voltage again and got 57.5 volts. Truck starts and idles better than ever before, BUT... I still have no rev up when i add throttle, and the smoke is still there. Any help, Please??? ![]() ![]() ![]() By the way, I just thought that I forgot to mention that I cleared codes, and P0611 still returns every time, without starting and also getting a p0404 egr performance code. I had EGR cooler fail before, but not cause me to have no or negative throttle response. Last edited by Paulliewog; 12-09-2012 at 11:21 AM. |

Problem solved. Removed EGR valve today. It was stuck open. I can't believe I overlooked the fact that it could be stuck open! I replaced it and now truck runs great!
