no power

hi i was trying to find out how much fuel i was geting to a tank of fuel. it was showing 45 km to empty and i lost most of the power.so i figer i was out of fuel so i went and fill it up still got no power .change the fuel filter still the same. is there anything i can try . someone said it coud be air lock or something. any help thanks sean p.s 200 ford f250 7.3 turbo

there are so many things that can cause low power , i dont think its air in the system, is the oil full and been changed lately, if its overdue or low the engine will not run right , does the check engine light come on, and do you have a way of pulling codes
