6.4 injector issues $8500 repair!!!!

I am new to the forum and I have an issue. I have a 08 F250 6.4 with 115K miles completely stock. The truck died on me and had it towed to the dealership and now they are telling me the injector pump failed and filled the injector lines with metal shavings which caused all of my injectors to fail. The truck died on me as I was driving and it acted like someone turned the fuel off. WTF...

115K miles so no warranty... Talked to a few shops and they told me the same thing the dealer did. Everyone I talked too said it was a common problem with the 6.4's. I guess I will bite the bullet and keep on trucking..

Check with your insurance company and see if it can be covered under comprehinsive I've heard of people doing that before as well

Wow, so is this something that just happens at random or is there something you can do to prevent it?
