IDM or ECU Failure???
Update. Solved!
#7 injector had electrical fault that was causing other 3 on passenger bank not to work. All 4 injectors on each side use a common ground wiring. When I unplugged #7, --- #5, #3, #1 starting working. Replaced #7 injector, check engine light is gone, runs great. As I have posted in another thread, Late 99 F350 7.3 auto trans. only code coming up is #7 hi/low open. Balance test shows #1, 3, 5, 7. Fuel pressure #60 at bowl. I have the passenger side bank not hitting at all, verified with temp gun. have ohmed UCH both inside and outside cover, replaced valve cover gasket, did .25 mod months ago. From outside valve cover gasket all ohms 2.8 - 3.4. My question is, can the IDM or ECU fail in a way to cause one bank to be out? The reason I ask this, when problem first occured, disconnecting batteries made issue go away for about 5 miles, then disconnecting batteries made issue go away for 1 mile. Each time I crank it now, it seems the first 5 to 10 seconds it runs fine and then goes to the passenger bank dead. Truck been down for weeks now. Last edited by angcobra; 11-12-2012 at 06:48 AM. |
