i drove it like this for about 15 miles had to get home, so not sure a fuel pump would have it idle rough and keep up with fuel at 70.

No mods other then an edge chip.

My buddys fuel pump went out and the truck would barley idle and it would just creep is about all it would do..you could look on top of the motor and unplug your value cover gaskets and see if it looked melted at any of the pins i have heard guys say that sometimes when they mess up they melt at the plug but thats just a idea i maybe wrong but it wouldnt hurt to look..does the edge read codes off if your truck i haven't ever messed with a edge on a 7.3..

Check the diaphram in the fitting where the fuel line goes into the pump. It may have some trash in it. It's a simple fix, after you remove the fuel line, there are two hex head screws to remove and you're there.

got if fixed the main cause of the missing was the injector plug going into the valve cover, the plug had came loose some what and burned the pins up in it.

I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned sooner.
Usually UVCHs are the main thing. I've rarely heard of the fuel pump diaphragm being dirty. Usually it's the pickup foot in the tank. |
