LOUD clunk on start

went to leave for work earlier and when i cranked the engine about 2 seconds after starting i heard a really loud clunk noise (sounded like a gunshot) but the truck continued to run so i thought i had another rodent in the fan shroud problem (ranch with poultry and livestock means rodents) so i shut the truck down to take a look around and i can not find any leaks or obvious breaks so i decided to just write it off and drive to work, just as i was pulling in to the station my CEL came on and luckily we have a code scanner for the utility turcks and i hooked it up and got a "P1783" trans over heat code BUT my trans temp didnt get above 150ish or out of normal range (have gauges and the factory "gauge.") just wondering if this is anything to worry about or should i just keep driving ?
