Stand pipe stuck need help!

Okay so while trying to change out my standpipe and dummy plugs I started out with the passenger side and the plug was simple and then I come to the pipe and I can't get it do come all the way out because it hits on that heat shield. What am I doing wrong? Also it was the bigger 12mm style stand pipe so could it have already been replaced? Thanks!

yes. the 12mm hex is the latest version.
i usually don't bother replacing the lower portion either. that o ring never blows.
but if you do want to change it, just pry up on the exhaust manifold with a large bar and lift the motor. have someone else pull it out while you do this
