rough running 7.3
my friend is not very good on a computer so i thought id help him out. he has a 2000 f250 with a 7.3 he says the truck has a delayed start, messed up idle, no high end power, has a hard time getting past 90 mph, not making full boost and sometimes dies randomly coming to a stop. the truck has no codes or engine light. the truck has about 150,000 miles. has a secondary oil filter he changes the oil and oil and fuel filters every 10,000 miles. truck has been doing it for more than a few tanks of fuel and even a new fuel filter and oil change if that could also be a variable. if anyone has any input about this situation it would be much appreciated. im thinking injectors or hpop??? possibly

First thing I would Try is the CPS (Cam Position Sensor).
Good Idea to have a Spare anyway. Mine woud Randomly Die but Start back up. Changed Sensor and all was well. Ford Later had a Recall on the Sensor. As far as the 90mph I know that mine has a Speed limiter at 92mph. Don't ask me how I know my truck tops out at 92. If you have a Chip or Tuner usually there is an Option of raising the Speed Limiter. I use a Supertuner that will let me but I never raised the Speed limiter Setting. |
