HELP! Lost Acceleration
I've been fighting this problem for 2 years now. Out of nowhere, the truck ('04 6.0 with an '03 engine) will loose power. I'll be driving along and it's as if my foot comes off the gas pedal. The engine will suddenly loose power, drop to idle and stay there for about 8 seconds. After the 8 seconds, the truck slowly responds to the pedal. The whole thing last about 15 seconds. It has done it at 65 mph, but mostly at about 10 to 15 mph. Engine both hot and cold, all year round. Changed the EGR and still no luck. Only had a check engine light 1 time (when it was running @ 65 mph) and the light went off when the truck recoverd. No code when I checked about 2 hours later. It may do it 5 times in a month, and nothing for 4 or 5 months. Totally random!! FICM? ICP? Any ideas??? Dealer found nothing wrong! I almost got rear ended today!! Thanks!!

could be an icp issue. does not sound like ficm issue. i'd say try an icp sensor or an ipr valve. but just for grins try kicking your cat see if its coming loose in there. any smoke present when problem is occuring?

No smoke that I can see. This truck is all stock and runs great. Bought it new in '03 and the turbo was replaced in '07. The sad thing is this truck has 41,000 miles on it.
