Stranded! Alternator problems?

I'm traveling with my 34' fifth wheel and my '04 F250 6.0l. When I tried to start it yesterday, it just clicked. Dead battery, so I asked a stranger for a jump
I took it to Carquest for a check. I'm unfamiliar with this town and that was the only parts store I could find. The kid there said they could test batteries, but not alternators. One battery checked weak. So I replaced it. Ran fine all day, then as I was leaving Walmart last night, I noticed my ABS light come on, then shortly after, my AC acted weak. Then I lost all gushes and power inside. It was still running, but I pulled into a station, where it promptly died. I got another boost and made it yo the camper park when the process repeated itself. Could it be the alternator or something more sinister? Help! !!

Don't jump it anymore, scroll down till you find my post A Word of Caution, read it. You need a DVOM and a charger, maybe both batteries instead of just the one, then you need to find out if the alternator is charging them. Whereabouts are you located?

replace both batteries. the weaker one will destroy your new one. from my experience, once jumped if you disconnect the batteries it should stay running from the alt. if not thats your culprit.

I'm in Lake Charles, La. I managed to get the alternator off and too it to auto zone. They said it tested bad, so I replaced it. I'm letting the batteries charge overnight, thanks to a friend who came to the rescue. Hopefully the alternator is the culprit

Good, let us know how it does. Keep two good batteries in her, strongest you can buy, and rotate them every 6 months. Good luck, Happy Campin'!
