truck smoking

Hi I have a 97 psd on initial startup in morning it smokes horrible embarrasing to start in town it does use a little oil. Could it be my seals on my turbo. I have no Idea where to start. the injectors are swamps babies and only have 15000 miles on them I just put a new idm in it. If I plug it in it barely smokes at all. please help. This is my first psd so be patient with me please. Also I know I have one bad glow plug but it shouldnt cause this much smoke. took oil cap off to check for blow by and it wasnt that bad at all. Thanks any help would be appriciated

I would say injector o rings until you said you have one bad glow plug. i would say it is the glow plug. I had 8 good one's in my truck just old had like 250,000 mi on them and she would smoke when i first started it as well. i changed all 8 glow plugs now there is only a little smoke on start up for 1 or 2 sec. then she clears up. the motor has over 350,000mi.......if you take the cap off the overflow bottle can you smell diesel in the coolant?

no diesel smell in coolant. the glow plug is actually busted off but plugged i bought it like that the other 7 are good. it smokes really bad on start up not if i plug it in though
