oil eveywhere
Driving with overhead camper today when all of a sudden oil starts shooting out the back of the hpop area, is it the hpop? never experienced this before?//??

Is the ipc tight? Thats on the lower right hand side on the back of the hpo resivor.

It was four turns loose, could that have been it?

It pushed almost all the oil trying to get it up on the trailer..

There are few things ti could be.
Now, it being an OBS this may be diff from a SD, but there is a non service-able plug at the very bottom of the HPOP. Removal is required to fix. There is a plug higher that has an oring. All the lines have orings. The ICP is on the drive side HPO rail. IPR is on the back of the HPOP. |

My experience was it would DUMP about a half a quart every time I would park my truck ('99 7.3) I initially thought the rear seal was leaking, it was just filling up the valley and running down the back of the motor, also made it look like the rear plug in the HPOP reservoir was leaking.
Replaced the the o-ring seals in the HPOP problem solved. Fairly simple at that. Took about an hour to fix. Last edited by j_sims; 04-23-2012 at 04:34 PM. Reason: typo |
