can anybody tell me what this code means?

Transmission Range Circuit Not Indicating Park/Neutral During Self Test

Sounds like a limit switch or a contact of some kind?

sounds like a neutral safety switch

trans range sensor out of spec

P1704 - Transmission System Problems

Location:
Digital TR
Description:
Digital TR circuit reading in between gear position during KOEO/KOER
Condition:
Digital TR sensor or shift cable incorrectly adjusted; or digital TR circuit failure.
Symptom:
Wrong commanded EPC pressure. Digital TR reading the wrong gear position.
Action:
WIRING OR DIGITAL TR SENSOR

I'd clear it and run it again (if possible) to see what codes get thrown the second time around...
