'06 king ranch 6.0 showed code p0404 according to Advanced Auto Parts do i need to be concered

thats an EGR code....do you have any mods??

nothing to "worrie" about, but u should get it in, odds are it needs an EGR valve.........Marc

It all depends what is actually wrong with the EGR. I have seen a couple bad EGR's cause more problesm, such as loss of power and so forth.

usually a p404 is just a stuck closed valve though, which shouldnt cause any drivability problems.........although ive learned with the 6.0, anything is posible...

when aap checked the code the light went off if it comes back on ill take it in (which will have to be soon 71k on her out of warranty soon)

up to 100k its all the same, and if i was you i would do everything within your power to try and re create the problem to get the light back on, it will be considerably cheaper that way. this is one of the problems of letting someone pull codes for you....if you hit the dealer with taht code, it will $100 deductable and they will fix it up to 5 years or 100k.........Marc

i dont know part numbers off the top of my head. there are two different EGR vavles for the 6.0 depending on build date as well...
