Bent Glow plug!

I recently acquired a '97 7.3 psd 3/4 ton for free. I get it home and drive it off the trailer and it starts fine and will drive, but has low compression in cylinder 6. So I am tearing the head off of the drivers side to see why I have low compression in cylinder 6 and when pulling the glow plugs, i get to cylinder 6 and the plug is bent! What would this be from?? anybody ever experienced this before?? I am assuming I have a bad piston or something in the cylinder on top of the piston floating around. I really appreciate your answers and efforts in advance.
