I HAVE A 02 F350 WITH THE 7.3 POWERSTROKE IT HAS A SMALL OIL LEAK IN THE VALLEY AREA BUT THAT IS THE EASY FIX. MY MAIN PROBLEM IS THAT MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 111,000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS BURNING OIL LIKE ITS GOING OUT OF STYLE. IT IS BURNING ABOUT 8-12 QTS A DAY. I HAVE CHECKED THE TURBO IT HAS NO PLAY IN THE INSIDE. PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT MY PROBLEM BECAUSE I REALLY LUV MY TRUCK.

Pull the outlet CAC tube on the turbo and check if you have a bunch of oil in it. Are you getting heavy black smoke out the exhaust?

if you have a leak in the valley you need to fix that first. If one of the quick connect fitting o rings has blown out (common on the 7.3) then you could be losing considerably more oil there than you are realizing. That system will run upwards of 3000 PSI at times and what seems like a small leak could actually be pooring out going down the road...
Also...if your burning that much oil, i would expect a ton of blowby...take the oil cap off.....put it on the filler upside down and rev the motor to about 2000psi while someone watches the cap. If it blows off (not vibrates off) then you have excessive blowby. If it doesnt...you probably dont have an internal oil consumption problem... |

IM NOOT GETTING BLACK SMOKE BUT WHITE SMOKE WHEN IT IS STOPPED. IT IS BURNING MORE OIL WHEN I SIT IN TRAFFIC THAN WHEN IM DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. WHAT IS THE CAC TUBE?

take out your fuel filter and see if the fuel in it is black. if so, you have injector o-rings leaking
|

sounds like injector o-ring problem. my truck had an injector o-ring leak and went through oil so fast u would think it was a loose drain plug, and it didnt smoke a drop (then at least, lol
) and never ran out of the ordinary

YOU ARE RIGHT
I TOOK THE FUEL FILTER OUT AND IT WAS FULL OF OIL. HOW DO I GET TO THE INJECTORS AND HOW WOULD I KNOW WHICH IS THE BAD ONE. THANKS ALOT FOR YOUR HELP
