10K mod problems

I performed the 10K mod yesterday on my late '99 PSD. On the test drive it died 4 times. I was told I didn't have a good connection, but the "service engine light" was on. This morning I soldered some wires to the ends of the resistor and re installed it. While it was warming up in the driveway it died. I restarted it, and maybe a minute later it died.
Can anyone tell me what is going on? Am I doing something wrong? I plugged it into the blue/green, grey/red wires.

I can't remember the color of the wires, but I will look at mine later and let you know. Good luck with it. And If I can help out I will. Let me know

Thanks, I appreciate it. It is supposed to be "simple" but for some reason I'm having trouble. I followed the instructions just like the video shows.

OK I just looked at my truck, and mine is hooked into the Blue wire with green stripe, and the Gray wire with red stripe. So I see that is the same wires you have it hooked to, so?? Where did you get your resistor?? Sure it is the right OHMS and AMP rating?? Hope you get it figured out. Is everything running ok with the resistor not hooked up?? MAKE SURE YOU AREN"T ACCIDENTLY SHORTING THE TWO WIRES WHEN YOU PUSH THE CONN BACK IN. Good luck

It should be at least a 1/2W resistor also. I've read of people having problems if they use a 1/4W...

I got them at Radio Shack. They are 1.2watt, 10K OHM resistors.

OOOPPPSS On second inspection they are 10 OHM, not 10K OHM. Must have been in the wrong drawer!!
