Help!

Hey fellow PSD owners out there. I have a 2004 PSD and it was having some power surges and the head gaskets were shot. I took it into the dealer for the head gaskets (they were under warrinty do to the fact they were just done a couple of months ago) and they are telling me that I need a new turbo and a new pedistal. They also have a $2800.00 price tag to go along with them. Does this sound right? I can do a turbo on a C-12 Cat for around $1000.00. What is a good price for the parts? Any help will be appreciated.

Check with your local diesel shop to see what kind of rebuild kits they can get a hold of to try and save you some cash. When you say you can do the c-12 for $1000 is that complete or just replacing the cartridge?
