7.3 bad miss when cold?
Hopping you guys can help me out?
I have went back 30 pages in this forum and haven't found a solution to a similar problem, First post by the way ![]() The specs= 02 f-350, crew cab, 4x4, 7.3, auto, edge juice, k&n, 4"dp, 5" out no muff with 86k miles.... The problem= Getting a bad miss and check engine light when truck is cold, it will do this until engine is up to operating temp with chip turned up or down still does it? Some times if i back out of it the light will go off and it instantly it runs fine, give it a little more pedal and light comes back on and then starts missing instantly again until up to temp??? When the temp outside is over 40deg there are no problems and also if i plug it in over night it is fine. Oil change is recent, new fuel filter, clean air filter, have been running power service in the tank even tried different fuel stations. Thanks in advance for the help!!!!!!! |

How many miles? The reason I ask is because it's probably about time for a valve cover harness. Other than that I don't know what to tell you besides we need to see the codes.

i have the same problem with mine if i dont plug it in. it kinda sounds like a camed up motor then it will die then i start it back up and its ok. the only advice that i can give u is to make sure u plug it in it real hard on these diesels if they start in the cold with out pluging them in . and also see what code it brings up

*update*
Changed plugged exhaust back pressure sensor and replaced orginal motorcraft batteries and she is running like a dream again. I hope by posting this it will give others a place to check before replacing injectors and valve cover harness's. |
