Wont Run

Hi folks
Got some issues new to the deseil world , Bought a 06 powerstroke this spring . Went through some bad cold weather here waxed up the lower filter replaced it and the top one, after a couple cycles fired up , let it warm up and still no go , put heat under the rig all morning , thought maybe the fuel was gelled little slow starting but took off same as before cant make it out of the driveway , White smoke and rig loses all power and dies let it set for a minute cycle the key, power for 30sec to a minute then dies , Any clue to whats happening / Im 50 miles from any real town so any advice helpful.
Thanks in advance
Scott

Check your fuel pressure, it sounds like the gelled fuel ate a fuel pump. I've had it happen to me while running biodiesel.

Yet another reason biodiesel sucks.

If you start the truck and let it sit and idle, does it stay running, or does it quit idling too. Or just when you're trying to roll in it?

It was crappy biodiesel from a biodiesel factory. I'm running homebrew bio in my truck now without any problems. Just like any fuel you need quality control.

I am personally not a big fan of biodiesel, I have several reasons behind this, but I'm not gonna hijack this fellow's thread. Mainly due to the quality of the crap in my area, and guys that are making their own, poorly. (Not saying that your homebrew is bad, just saying that most of it I've seen is not very good)

The quality is generally not there, as you said but even when the quality is there there are some issues that will overtime reduce the longevity of the injection system in the truck, especially any rubber components. Remember, the fuel rail in the head is only sealed by two rubber O-rings, and they will deteriorate.
