fuel injector teardown thread sticky

The sticky for this thread is not working. Does anyone have the link or another for this procedure?

I noticed this as well and need to replace two injectors tomorrow night when they come in. I already have the valve covers off I am just trying to get a little more insight to this project before I get into take the actual injectors out and swapping . . .

Did the buzz test and I can hear 4 muted or fainter sounding injectors with the autoenginuity software. Is it injector time or could it just need the under valve cover harnesses?

Depends . . . . if all 4 were on the same side then i would say get the shim kit and do the UVC harnesses. If it was spread between each side it could still be the UVC harness slouching on each of them but I would try doing a contribution test. That is the only way I found my dead injectors. My buzz test turned out fine but when I lit it up with the contribution test the truck died!! Cylinders 1 and 8 misfired . . .

I also swapped out another IDM before ruling it injectors and I replaced the ICP sensor. Can't wait till tomorrow night to have this thing running better again!

I did the contribution test and returned cylinder 3 could not notice any change in engine RPM while the test was being completed. During the buzz test 1=o.k 2=o.k. 3=faint 4=faint 5=faint 6=faint 7=o.k. 8=o.k.

You need one of the tech's to respond on here . . . I'm not a tech but I act like one after my day job! lol

I would definitely try swapping someone else's IDM in before you go and buy injectors. I ruled out everything before buying injectors. Sounds to me like you have 1 faulty injector and either your UVC harnesses are coming apart a little bit or you have crap in your tank that is getting through the filter and trashing your injectors . . .
