I was given a $2000+ estimate when my UVC harness melted on the '94! Was told $600 for the engine harness and then some for gaskets and UVC's. I ended up buying the Motorcraft VC gaskets and UVC's (about $200 for all that) and found new connectors online for $20-30. Cut off the old ends and soldered the new connectors in... ran just fine after that.

Question

Ummm, what about if they had to replace other parts of the harness, not just the sensor and pigtail(don't forget those are ford prices for parts too....)? And to clean up the oil on the firewall/block, change the oil/fill, and test it. Mine needs replaced and is slowly leaking, but when ford (parsons ford wv) replaced a leaky exhaust segment before the turbo, but in their lazyness they decided to rivet instead of bolt the heatshield back on the turbo..... So ill have to drop the front driveshaft and work from below( I am not going to pull the turbo, too much work and I'd have to get new gaskets for it).

Sorry about that mini-hijack. But 1000-1400 sounds fine depending on what they are doing and if they actually have a diesel tech working there..... Where in wv are/were you?
