Turbo Noise

Im having issues with my turbo. when my truck is warmed up pretty good and i give it some throttle and pushing boost i hear a high pitch whinning noise. i want to say that the noise sounds like metal on metal but not sure how to describe it. i pulled the intake off and inspected the turbo impeller for damage, rub marks and to see if it has any play in it. i found no problem. it only does it to me when i give it some pedal, it will stop when i let off of the gas, or some times it will stop when i give it more gas. it happens around 2000 to 2500 rpm's.

i have a 2002 F350 CREW CAB Long Wheel Base 4X4 with 150,000 miles. no mods, bone stock.

i am getting frustrated with it, any ideas would be great.

Any chance its something other than the turbo? I can't hear it so i'm just throwing it out there, but maybe something on the belt is making noise? Alternator, power steering pump? Is it maybe an exhaust rattle?

could be, i was thinking ti was the turbo considering it was when i was accelerating and always around the same RPM's. it makes no noise at idle or when the engine is cold.

See if you can try to pinpoint it a little more.

Gonna have too i guess. In the cab i can hear the noise coming from where the Turbo is. that is why i was thinking it was the turbo.

Check the turbo to exhaust and exhaust system like manifold y-pipe and down pipe.

I have an early 99 F-250 psd. I am having the exact same problem and finally found someone elso who is that understands what Im hearing. It only happens between 2000 and 2500 once shes warms up. I have listened and tried to pin point the sound as best I can and from what I hear it sounds like the turbo. Someone suggested maybe the wastegate was blowing off, so i put a new wastegate controller on. It seems to be slightely better but still i have the noise. Any Ideas?

im havin the same problem and when its warmer it will sound like someone blowin thru a bottle or something comin out the exhaust

i tightened up all the clamps on the intake and charge side of my turbo, and it did not make any noise for a bit, but while pulling my goose neck i heard it again. only while getting on it and some times when i hear the noise and let off the pedal i can still hear it for a bit. im gonna try and change my cerpintine belt to see if that could be the problem, i hope so. start with the simplest thing first.
