Starter going bad. With the starter next to the engine. If the soleniod is getting hot from the engine. It will sieze up not starting the truck. When you turn the key to start it it just does nothing. Sometimes it clicks. If you take a hammer you can beat it loose by tapping on the starter. But what may have happened is enough time went by and the starter cooled off enough to allow the solenoid to work properly. Allowing the truck to be started. As soon as he is back I would pull the starter and have it checked out. |

Being that it is an OBS, my $$ is on the fuel bowl heater or the CPS. Check fuse #22. It is a 30A maxifuse. Sometimes the fuel bowl heater shorts out and blows this fuse. It will cause a no-start when it does.
I know you probably have it figured out by now, but just an idea if you're still having trouble. Good luck |
