Question Trying to thaw 4 more sewers...cam sensor?

After reading all this info on cam sensors I am pretty sure thats what my problem is, however I need this truck tonight and there is no parts avail. My question is starts good cold....runs ten min....shuts down. Restart only after turn key back.....go about quater mile at a time. Is there any way old watery fuel could cause this something I could fix asap. Thank You

Sounds like it could be a cps. I know they sell them on ebay for 40-60 bucks. Drain your fuel filter/seperator. Take the engine cover off its the black cover with 2 13mm bolts. You will see a yellow valve make sure you have somthing to catch the fuel and add a piece of hose to the drain. Turn the yellow lever clockwise and you can even cycle the key a couple of times this will drain the water out.

Sounds like the cps to me too. Have you checked Autozone, or Advance autoparts or Napa, to see if they have the cps in stock. I know the autozone by my house and Andvance Auto carries them in stock.

I AGREE WITH THE REST. SOUNDS LIKE THE CAM SENSOR WENT SOUTH. I HAD A CUST TRUCK A COUPLE WEEKS AGAO DOING THE SAME THING. CPS WAS BAD. CHECK WITH O'REILLYS IF YOU HAVE ONE. OURS KEEPS THE CPS IN STOCK. IF YOU'RE ON THE ROAD ALOT, MAY NOT BE A BAD IDEA TO BUY TWO AND KEEP THE EXTRA IN THE GLOVE BOX WITH A 10mm WRENCH TO CHANGE IT. GOOD LUCK

You can also get them from IHC cheaper than ford in a pinch, and the truck shops are usually are open to midnight.

Gord.
