my truck is surging sometimes right off the line and sometimes while accelerating down the road. it only last for around a second usually by then i have moved the throttle and it goes away. my wife says the truck just wants to get up and run, 7.3 early 99, 260.000 motor is stock except for a SCT tuner with canned tunes set on street. any ideas?

First idea is to get rid of the SCT, its not good for the 7.3

Tyler is right and wrong here. Canned SCT tunes suck on the 7.3. Custom SCT tunes however are fine. However unless the problem goes away when you are back to stock I highly doubt the SCT has anything to do with it.
Need to have a scan tool and see data to diagnose this. It could be anything from a bad TPS to many other things |

Did you have the CPS recall done? |

I'm thinking he might have a sticking injector. If the injector is staying open longer spraying more wouldn't that make it romp and surge a little? I'm still learning too but that makes sence to me.
260k on stock injectors sounds about right.
