low boost numbers...
hi everyone im new to the site and have a question. i just put a edge evo. 2 tuner in my truck and while i drive down the road it reads 0-3 psi for boost, and under a load it will go up to 9 psi. and there is a huge cloud of black smoke(looks cool). is it my tuner or the truck computer? or is my turbo toast? or somethin?
![]() an help would be great cause my local shop charges an arm and a leg to look at stuff so i do all my own work if i can thanks guys |

I'd start by checking all the boots to make sure they are tight- 2 at the intercooler, 4 on the spyder pipe (2 on the CAC tubes, 2 on the plenums). Also check for up-pipe leaks (the pipes that connect the exhaust manifolds to the turbo).

Take a quick look inside your intake and make sure your turbo impeller does NOT look like the first pic. The second pic is good, first pic bad.

you mean it only hits 9# max when you really put the pedal down? mine sits around 3-5 when cruising around town/hwy depending on speed. that's just cruising though, no acceleration really. is that not normal?
