Crucial things to change on an early 99?

I've got the itch to start planning things out for the truck again within a few months, what are some key things to watch out for on the early 99? As in what should i change to make it more of a late 99 that are crucial when doing mods after that?

Nothing untill you actually do mods.

AB injectors can be built to the same specs as AD's so if you get them built its a non issue.

Drop in turbo's don't fit ( besides the d66 for E99) so you wait untill you want to do a turbo, then either get the d66 or get a L99 pedestal and up pipes, and intake spider/plennums

HPOP is a weak point, but again, the companies who mod them don't seem to care what your core is starting out as.

Don't bother with the PCM, good tuners can tune it just as well

Same with the IDM, there isnt any real benefit to going to the later one

Injectors are pretty much brand new, unfortunately that came through some bad gas, insurance company suing, so i didnt get much pick on what went in there so they are just stock but less than a year on them, im guessing they are the early 99 but is there a chance they put the late 99 in them? haha probably not but if they didnt is it a big deal or do i need to get them built?

Yeah turbo will be down the road a bit most likely

I did plan to upgrade the hpop to the late 99 always figured that would be a weak point

good to know about pcm and idm. save a little money

My plan as of now is for this summer when id be doing it, first ill order and install gauges, that way i know my gains.

Then i figured air intake, exhaust. HPOP somewhere in there

then the fun part, a chip haha

as well as some cosmetic changes here and there of course.

They probably did put the L99 in them. Cheaper and easier to get.

Don't waste the money on a L99 stock HPOP, just get yours built to be a T500 or something similar. I'm E99 and my HPOP holds 2900-3000 psi all day.

I put the PHP hydra chip in my stock e99 and was very impressed with just that.
I have a 96 with Swamps injectors and Tony's tunes and I really don't use all the power it makes. My e99 with hydra realy runs and pulls strong plus you can change tunes easy as you mod.

early 1999 F350 CC LB DRW Mark111 just bought/ php hydra, Tony's tunes, ISSPRO EV2
1996 F250 BTS Tymar, MBRP, Baby Swamps,Autometer
1996 F350 Mason dump plow truck

I have am e99 also and the biggest thing I have read and have done myself is the crank case vent mod. If you have it stock your turbo is sucking oil and grease right noe. 2nd I would chip it. I went with php hydra and wow what a difference. Then you should think of doing the 6.0 trans mission cooler swap. Gages would also be a great thing. With stock everything and just a chip I'm pushing 230-250 hp with almost 600k miles

e99 7.3 Crew Cab 4x4
6.0 Trans Cooler
06 Mirrors (wired all but heat) 06 step bars
36" Tires/factory 06 18" rims
PHP Chip/Glow Shift Gauges
Crank Case Vent Mod
600k miles and still running strong.
