Yeah my valve cover says 250 as well, but most of what I've read on the 7.3s says they were rated at 235/500 from early '99-00. Yeah the 80e is the highest setting I'm running now. Don't get me wrong, I love the extra power increase. I'm planning on getting the 120 and/or 140 along with a good towing tune after I get bigger oil and the D66 so Jody can tune for all of that instead of me sending it back after each big mod that I do.

The D-66 is great, I love it so far but for $1350 I would not have bought it if my factory turbo hadn’t died. As for big oil, I want that too, the $350 17* pump made a big difference in my truck, now I have two pumps so maybe in the future I might spend around $900 on the DIY kit to make them into dual pumps but I already have more power than my tires can put to the pavement.

The D66 is the smart money turbo. There is nothing remotely close to it for the price. You could always swap to a late99-03 system for $1000 and you still have a POS journal bearing turbo. Or pay $1800 for a GT38R and another $500+ for all the parts for the swap. Or $2400 for an H2E. If you plan on going big power down the road the H2E is the smart move, I wish I would have thought of it.

CVDenson, smart move to wait until everything is done at once to save on the reburn fees. I spent a small fortune last year by not waiting and doing it at all at once. Oh well, live and learn.

Got my chip back today from TW, WOOHOO, haven’t had much of a chance to drive it yet, drove to work tonight towing an empty 16’ trailer and it seems better so far. It didn’t come back with any paper work or anything so I assume the settings are what I asked for.

Biggest difference I noticed is on what I think are the high tunes the truck doesn’t sound any different, with all my old chips and programmers on high it rattled a lot more and sounded like it had a big cam at idle. Now it just sounds the same as the tow or eco tunes. Seems like a good thing for the engine as long as it still has the power, can’t wait to unhook the trailer and really try it out.

Keep us updated on how it pulls unloaded. I'm very interested in your results.

Well my new TW tunes and PMT1 computer do seem to be a little stronger than before, the tranny seems to shift better but still bangs sometimes. I guess I need to go ahead and order the BTS valve body.

Only thing is all 6 tunes seem pretty close to each other, without counting the switch positions I can’t tell one from the other. They all seem very close in power and shifting. I haven’t had much chance to drive it yet, only about 100 empty miles so far so it may just be me but every other chip or programmer I have had I could tell a definite difference between most tunes. These all run pretty much the same boost (27 max) and blow lots of black smoke. They will all also get second gear rubber.

I think my tunes are supposed to be;
1. heavy tow
2. tow
3. eco
4. daily
5. street race
6. extreme

I just bought a PMT2 PCM for $80 for my early, got my fingers crossed that it will work for me. I don't have a chip yet so no worries there, I just hope the one I bought has the updated programming for the trans.
