leveling a 99

Got myself into a 02/99 on the weekend(350 crew diesel) which I now realize bridges the gap between early and new 99. My question is which leveling kit people have found works the best at a reasonable cost on the early 99 suspension, or is adding a extra spring the best way to go.

Thanks

I built my own and it has worked great for 4 years. If you have access to torches and welders and stuff then it is free and not too hard to do.

if you cant fab one, various places sell a leveling kit for anywhere between 150-250. depending on the amount of lift.

I prefer spring packs over drop brackets but there are a lot of drop bracket options out there. They all seem to work well.

Not to hijack the OP's thread here but I to am looking for a leveling kit for my early 99. I would like to do it with a whole new spring pack as mine are in a negative arch. I also plan on running the Bilstein 5100 shocks. Right now as it sits with about 600lbs. in the bed the rear is sitting at about 41 inches to the top of the wheel well and the front is at 39.5 inches. If I need to I could put the 3.5 inch blocks in the rear if the front will end up high than the rear.

So which brand do you guys recommend I go with?? I checked 4wheelparts and they don't list a procomp leveling kit for my early 99.

Thanks,
Mike

Im pretty sure most leveling kits come with a helper spring pack. dont know if that is what you want or not.

For myself I would like a whole new set of front springs, so I may get rid of the negatively arched ones on the truck now. I might start plowing with the truck next winter so I think new ones would be my best bet.

Thanks,
Mike

When I was looking at a leveling kit I was going to buy the ProComp kit. They have two options. One with drop brackets and one with new springs so make sure you read very carefully.

I used an add a leaf on mine. It has worked great and the ride is stock. Cost was less than $100.

I bought drop H brackets for less that 60 bucks shipped and adjustable tracbar for less that 100 shipped and got out the easy way. Seems to work for me.

my .02 cents
