early 99 tymar install help!!!!!!

I looked at the DYI tymar install and thought, no problem well I got problems. What intake hose adjustment is """Maintain""" talking about, cause I cant get this filter to fit with the parts I have and I couldnt find early 99 install pics anywhere!

did you take the old air box out??? top and bottom. there are two bolts in the bottom of the box and two up by the battery. my filter still hits my hood tho.

Yes I did take the box out. But mines not mounted that way, I have 3 bolts holding mine in and they are all on the outside. Thanks,Geo.

here ya go this was on my early 99 before I got my afe.. I used a 5" piece of pipe due to the angle the 4" wasnt long enough

3” PVC 45 works perfect on the early 99’s with the angled intake hose.
Here is a pic of mine with the PVC painted flat black.




Make sure to inspect your intake hoses for cracks, mine cracked on the bottom side where they connected to the ccv adapter and to the turbo and factory air box. I had to replace both hoses when I did the DIY intake.

i think 2whlfreak has a "early" 99 because his airbox sounds like the one that was in my 97, but i still didnt have any problems with putting on my intake, all those 99's look so much like mine under the hood, will the spider pipe for the inter cooler work on mine?
