i agree with the oil change , you have to snug the filters up good on the 7.3 but you shouldnt have to ream on it to get it to seal, it could be trying to suck air around it maybe , ive never really heard of that but you are having a wierd issue though

yeah, wierd issue is not the word! Ok, I changed the oil, got some new 15w40 Motorcraft in there, along with a K@N Gold Oil filter. Got the oil filter mainly cause it has a 1" nut on the bottom of the filter to tighten it up with. Nice design. That way, no having trouble with turning the filter wrench around the front driveshaft, and the oil pan to get the filter tight. I will drive it some tommorow and see what I got. also I thought of buying a mechanical oil pressure guage to tap off of the pressure tap on the back side of the block, next to the bottom bellhousing bolt, to monitor what my oil pressure is. Hopefully this will solve my problems. I did notice it brought pressure up faster this time on the 2nd startup, after initial priming and startup and letting it set for a while. Will keep you guys up on this. My wife thinks this is a money pit. I would have to spend over 6000 dollars for me to start getting over the book value of this truck once you add what I paid for it. I only paid 10,500!! Not a money pit yet. by far. aggravation pit, yeah. For now.

Be careful, I spent over $6,000 on mine in the past year and thats just parts since I do my own labor. My wife completely hates my truck, I think she is jealous.
You may also want to look at a nylon strap type oil filter wrench. Mine fits anywhere from very large to very small filters and fits a ½ drive ratchet and/or extension so I can get to most filter areas real easy. Best I can remember it was a pretty cheap tool.

I got a oil filter strap from my snap-on dealer. Best $20 bucks I've spent.
