Early 99 PCM Upgrade ???

So I have an early model 99'. I keep reading about upgrading the PCM to a late model. I'm assuming "PCM" is the Power Control Module? If so, where do you reccomend I get one and about how much do they run? Is it just a plug and play upgrade or is there tuning and other mods needed? And what kind of performance differences will a PCM upgrade even produce?

I up graded mine right befor i installed my wildman tunes. It helped with the shifting and that to me was about all i felt. I installed tunes the next day so never got a feel for the power difference, if any. You want to find one in the DPC-422 family. if you pull yours and look at the sticker you will see, DPC-420...i think, mine did. by the way i paid 50 bucks for mine at the bone yard. good luck.

Please excuse my ignorance, but where do I even begin to find a PCM that will work in place of mine? I assume I need to get a newer year model, but do I just need one out of a late 99 or will anything in the 99-03 range work? And will the new one just be a plug and play application?

Dude, I posted a bunch of PCM's and the phone numbers of where to buy them with the price they advertise and their stock number. What more do you want? Holy crap, I did the hard part for you.

More than likely it will not be plug and play. Jody at DP tuner can flash it for $50. So have it shipped to him like I did. He will flash it and send it to you. But you will have to see what PCM code it has when the PCM arrives.
