Exclamation Uhh me need helpie. SHIM FPR

I've seen some posts about the FPR shim and read through some of the instructions. I have been confused over some misleading/contradicting things... or maybe just me no comprende senior

OK, is it the head of the 4-40 screw that actually constitutes the shim OR is it the length of the thread? And what would be a good measurement... I've seen anything from .067" to .075" for the head thickness and 3/16" for the thread length.

Early 99, I know your out there... hit me

use a BB from a BB gun. It works mint, and you dont have to grind it down like you would the 4-40 screw.

Thanks guys. Now all I gotta do is cut open one of my 10 guage shotgun shells and get the majic BB. Wonder what would happen if I put a BBB in... no wait, I'll put a T in it. J/K

Sorry guys, I was finishing doing gauges and exhaust on my father in laws '03 7.3. Only on for a few then my daughters 9th B-day takes priority.

The head of the 4-40 bolt needs to be ground down to 1/8" to start and then start checking pressure. If it is higher than 80psi, grid a little more off and try it again. The length of the threads only needs to be around 1/4". The .177cal BB is the fool proof method.

Keep Strokin'

Had to scratch the BB from the shotgun shell idea... I measured one with a pair of calipers and it's .200" dia. which will not let the cover seat. So I went with the screw and it did improve the throttle response...pretty cool.

NO, not unless you put a gauge on it to see what pressure it currently is.

This what I would use: Stealth Automotive. Powerstroke Engine Fuel Pressure Kit

What kinda truck and mods you got? You probably will not notice much even if the BB is working right. I would definitely not put anything thicker in there without hooking a gauge up to watch pressure.
