new model 17* HPOP for early 99

I think I just bought a remanufactured 17* HPOP from eBay for $345 delivered for my old 99 to replace the tired 15* pump. Can't wait to see if it makes a difference, any tips on changing it?

I would hang on to it and buy a DIY Stealth setup. You'll have a nice 15/17* big oil setup.

it's not that big of a job. make sure that u get a new gasket for the hpop. don't take the fittings out of the heads or the hpop. if u do, you'll have to get new o-rings (for the fittings) and lock-tight them back in. the hpop lines are kind of a pain is the a$$ to get off. u might try and get the tool to take the lines off. the tool is about 5" long and has a "U" shape cut out of the end of it. it also has a slight bend at the end that has the "U" shape cut out of it. the "U" shape piece fits over the line and seperates the line from the fitting. so all in all, just time and taking off the lines is the hardest part. oh ya you gotta take off the fuel bowl. i think that u would have to. i put my 17* in when i rebuild the motor.

I'd love to hear if the new 17* pump makes a difference with your injectors. I'm thinking I'm going to do the same thing. I got 230cc hybrids and just installed a HPO gauge and only seeing 1500psi at WOT. I'm getting lots of smoke and high EGT's at WOT and I'm thinking my 15* pump with 198,000 miles on it is pretty weak and a upgrade to a 17* pump will atleast help a little.
