On the horsepower thing, the 250 was International ratings, 235 was Fords. Some motors got out the door with Internationals sticker on the valve cover.

Great post guys. I just bought my 99 F350 so I had no clue there were any model year differences. Ford has been doing this crap for years. My truck according to the door tag was produced 4/98 maybe a prototype . The truck has 272,000 on it so who knows what has been changed. It has the front feed airbox and fender badges. I am going to check my cruise next. Is there any lockout differences (dayum autolocks) wheres the engineer that came up with that idea ? Did we not learn from the vaccum wipers of years past Thanks again for sharing great knowledge.

What is the 2" boost tube?

When you say upgrade the xle series, do you mean swap the PCM out with one from 99.5-01?

I think he means the 2in intakes on the heads. And I think he does mean to junk the 401series pcm.

I have door badges, a cruise light, but I have body trim on the bed, and lumbar support....

I also can't find a date code tag ANYWHERE on the damn truck...am I blind, stupid, or both?

Now I really want to know if it's a early or late 99...

Go back to the first post and take a look at some of the differences. One would be the sticker on the valve covers.

The other is how many relays do you have on the passenger side valve cover behind the AC compressor?

If you try to put your hand on the top of the turbo, how much room is there? Can you fit your fist between the top of the turbo and the cowl or do you have to flatten your hand to get it up there?

I would, except the truck isn't here....but judging by the turbo surge I get, and the lack of turbo "whine/whistle", I'd say it's a 99.5.

I didn't think to look at the housing when I did the exhaust, I just know it was tight as hell to get that DP on and off .

The sticker on the valve cover will tell me what? I re-read, and didn't see.
