Is this IDM a good uprade?

Im considering buying an early 99 F250. I can tell its an early 99 because in the pictures, the powerstroke emblems are on the front fenders. For a stock truck, is this a good upgrade?

99 and earlier IDMs where 110 which draws more amps (amps = heat.) the newer IDMs (2000-2003) are 120 vrs 110 The newer IDM will draw less amps, which equal less heat. It will also give you better starting reliability, and a little more power, and will increase life of the injectors also......So just make sure that the one your getting is a 220 IDM and not just a rebuilt 110!!!

i have not heard of the 7.3's using a 220 v IDM. The ones that I am familiar with are 100,110,120 and then the modified ones that are 140

Your right early99psd, I said 220 but I meant to say 120.
