CAN E99'S RUN ELC?? Or do we have to use...

What's up gents...

Can early 99's (DOB: 3/98) get away with converting to an HD-ELC type coolant, or are we forever stuck using a conventional type coolant?

I would obviously do a cooling system flush before adding anything different, but I heard someone mention that E99's should not run ELC (do not know the reason) Does it have anything to do with the plastic rad., instead of aluminum rad.?

If I don't hear anything back I am going with the ELC for sure.

Thanks in advance

You're right...someone else will know for sure, but thanks for the input Duane!

I by no means am an expert either, however after doing a flush and change to ELC I was informed that the ELC is not compatible with the sealant that International used around the injector cups in early 99's. So about $100 later I changed it back to the glycol based. If I recall correctly, a fellow by the name of Gooch did an extensive writeup on this.

The elc shouldn't be used with our seals and some orings.
