Ok guys.....I got the green light from the boss LOL to be able build up the E99 F250 7.3 crewcab.
It is pretty much stock. No engine mods besides cold air intake. I have almost 200,000 miles. I'm pretty sure the tranny has never been rebuilt. Now with that being said. I have about a 10 K budget. What should I buy to get the best bang for my buck? And in what order? I want to be able to still use it as my daily driver. I do pull a fifth wheel camper with it. I do want a lift for it. I can do a lot of the work. Major things I will have someone else do them. So let me have you best and worst thoughts on all this please. Thanks |

BTS trans for sure. Injectors, turbo, bigger hpop and a custom chip. Gauges would be my first.
Wish I had 10 stacks to put into my truck right now. |

BTS trans 5k
Stage 1's $1200 turbo D66 $1425, or T4 style about $2200 gauges... custom tune... exhaust reg return $465 that should bring you pretty close to your mark give or take a few |

So, the BTS Trans, is that a rebuild kit or a complete new trans? What type of tuner? Would a 4in exhaust work?

BTS is brians truck shop, best trans on the market for the 7.3 hands down. Life time warranty and it will take anything you throw at it. Brians Truck Shop
Tuner is up to you, there are a bunch of good ones out there, as for exhaust depends on what you like 4 inch is fine, I just perfer the sound of a 5 inch |

Unfortunately, as sad as it sounds, $10,000 isn't that much anymore :-( Even if nothing goes wrong you'll have a hard time keeping the mods to under $10K because something almost alway enter into the mix that gets forgotten...some needed labor, something worn or broken that has to be replaced first. Seriously, I'd shoot for spending $8000-9000 and then you'll have the buffer for up to $10,000...because it'll get there real quick. Good luck!

I'd go with Finch. Repair basically anything you can find first. Then go from there.

I plan on getting a BTS trans when the funds allow along with PHP custom tunes.
As for exhaust, I love my 5" turbo back. It is much deeper/throaty than my buddy's 4" turbo back. |

So very true.... 10k can go very fast when it comes to diesels.

Yeah I hear you. I'm having to replace my tranny so I'm going with a BTS.
$4400 BTS $365 Shipping (2 way) $210 26 row 6.0 Tranny Cooler (off-brand from Rockauto) $200 Schaeffers Tranny fluid $5175 minimum total for a transmission swap. When I add in the "might-as-well-do-it-while-its-down-items" I'm up to about $5620 (New rear engine seal, R&R the oil pan seal, Special Ford silicone, new coolant and SCA, paint, degreaser, oil cooler o-rings, DP-Tuner re-burn for tranny). Its a bunch of money just to get reliably back on the road again
