Button in Dash..?

So i've had this truck for a while and knew the button was there just never knew what it was for any ideas?

not factory... have you traced the wiring, what does it go to? Hard to say what it's for without seeing the truck/wiring in person... stick your head under the dash and find out where the wires go. I've seen the cubby hole in the dash used for lots of things, our Ex has trailer brake controler wiring still in the cubby, from the last owner, but no controler. Nice thing is it hooks right up to controlers I have in the other trucks!

tried pushing switch hitting brakes.. controller works pushed again hit brakes controller still works... poked my head under there all i could really see around the heater outlet was my audio wires for radio up there

Does your truck have an alarm system, if so then maybe it's an override switch to disable it in case the remote fails.

know that you say this.... when i was wiring up my remote start i noticed alot of the wires had prior crimps in them. this is very possible from the previous owners keyless entry system.... ill pop that button out and see if anythings still connected
