I modified my factory track bar on my early '99, as I had just replaced it less than a month before I added a leaf to the front of the truck... track bar was about half an inch too short, so I chopped it in the middle, and found an old jeep front drive shaft I had laying around, the tubing was the right inside diameter to sleeve the track bar, I cut some splits/wedges in a 8-9" peice (so each end looked like a kings crown), for more welding suface, and welded it up right where it needed to be... worked great.
