E99 Dieselsite Boot Fitment
Hello,
Has anyone besides myself had any issues with the fitment of the E99 valley boots from Dieselsite fitting properly? My spider intake openings are approximately 2.385" and the Dieselsite boots are 2.505" That's leaving an 1/8" gap that I have to compress with the supplied worm clamps before it even makes a friction fit on the spider. The boots are also a little over 3/4" to long and are skirting on the plenum and spider. In fact they have slid about 1/4" up over the factory bump stops on the spider. I could trim the boots but then they are still an 1/8" away from a friction fit. I'll try and figure out how to post a pic. |

It's the correct part number for the year DSEBK99 and my truck is 9/18/98. I spoke with Bob. He says they run them in large production runs and have never had a complaint. I would like someone with access to their E99 spider to measure the plenum openings and see if it is also 2.385"....The boot fits the sheetmetal intake diameter but is completely wrong on the spider.
I would really like pics from those E99 owners who also have the Dieselsite boots installed. Did anyone have to trim for height? I should have taken a side by side comparison pic. |

Ok, I think I have it figured. If you have the E99 your spider/spyder to intake opening is approximately 2-3/8" and the dieselsite boots are 2-1/2" and that is the potential problem. I will wait until I finish my fuel and exhaust system and then check for boost leaks.
I would really like to find some E99 owners with dieselsite valley boots to see some pics... |
